Organic Body Shop sells 2 types of oils.

This collection includes essential oils that are wildcrafted and organic. We harvest and grow plants for our wildcrafted oils, which are available here. We use these oils in our organic products. Wildcrafted plants are grown without known chemical pesticides and harvested using an ancient method of extraction that preserves all the plant properties and healing benefits.  We are one the few producers of lilac, peony, and rose oils in Canada. product marked wildcrafted made at Organic Body Shop. Sustainable farming and small organic farms can produce nutrient-dense crops that are better for the environment and health with no chemicals or pesticides. Wildcrafted essential oils can be superior to organic essential oils because of their constituents.

2-Steam-distilled oils are very popular and usually come from countries outside of Canada. These oils are produced by commercial growers using solvents, steam, or both. Because of the high temperatures and chemicals involved, very little of the plant's natural properties remain after the steam process. Some oils are steamed with water, but others are steamed with alcohol, acetone, or other solvents. These solvents are not skin-safe and are considered flammable for shipping. Although most steam-distilled oils are not safe for the skin, they have a wonderful aroma. We use some of these in our products when necessary to give you a quality experience. Eucalyptus, lemon, rosemary, and orange are examples of steam-distilled oils.
